I bought this Dell Optiplex 360 for $ 15 in a local thrift store near my home, I brought it home and reused it as a retro emulation PC, installed Batocera "Stand Alone RecallBox / RetroPie" and I was very surprised to find out that it is running Gamecube Dreamcast PSP N64 Naomi and many other emulators at full speed! Cheaper than a Pi but it consumes more energy and takes up a lot more space but I think it's worth it.

ReplyDeletewould a xbox orig be better for $15??? xbox neo geo emu is 100% fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteI think you should use prime 2 echoes as a GameCube test. Im pretty sure that'll test the limits of the system really well... Plus I've been dying to see if it works on a cheap (ish) system cuz it refuses to play correctly on my note 10 for Android
ReplyDeleteMore advertisements than a whore had dicks but besides that I found this video educational to my needs
ReplyDeletetekken 5 in ps2 is one of the most hardest games to emulate
ReplyDeleteHow about trying emulating on a OnePlus 3 phone or a Nexus 5
ReplyDeleteAnd how about the best emulating tablet for under 100$ let see because for now really enjoy your content
ReplyDeleteHow do I add dolphin to batocera plz...I just wanna gamecube.
ReplyDeleteI have an optiplex 380 with a gt 630, and i don't know why but gamecube run slowly. Nos fps drop but i think it's a constant 30fps. I use 4:3 and 640x480. What's your setup for dolphin eta please ?
ReplyDeleteThis is similarly speced to my daily computer...can you tell I dont game!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh oh heck that's the computer I use
ReplyDeleteEven the Switch has more power than that xD
ReplyDeleteHow well does it run PCSX2?
ReplyDeletePretty cool but I rather spend the few extra bucks and pick up a pi3
ReplyDeleteI can run all those game systems on my phone like a handheld.
ReplyDeleteHow the hell did you get Goldeneye running without the sky tearing up
ReplyDeleteMost of the things you're saying sounds like giberish to me. Wish I could get into this but I don't PCnese..
ReplyDeleteSo if I have an adaquate pc without an operating system installed, will Batocera start up automatically if it's loaded on a USB drive?
ReplyDeleteWhat is naomi?
ReplyDeletehow do i add N64 PSP etc in the emulator menu???
ReplyDeleteWill this run Atari Jaguar
ReplyDeleteI have Windows XP build ( pixel shader 1.0 ) for dreamcast emulator , does anyone want it?
ReplyDeleteThis fits what I say to Linux newcomers lately: AMD works fine and is open-source friendly these days, but Nvidia still have better compatibility across the board, specially regarding older versions of OpenGL (important for older games and emulators like these)
ReplyDeleteI looked at all of those and 0 of them were even under $100 Cad ZERO of them... I want one of these so bad for use as a server machine. I found 1 that was for ~$25 cad with a shipping cost of $150 with that money I could buy newer parts that perform faster than those.
ReplyDeleteIt cost 75$ to ship to my country
ReplyDeletenot gonna run gamecube game
ReplyDeleteWhat is the operating system you used
ReplyDeleteWhat is the name of the application that is using the video?
ReplyDeleteHi and thx for all the great content !! I can get a DELL Optiplex 380 SFF with
ReplyDeleteIntel Core Duo E8400 3GHz
Microsoft windows 7 and
4Gb Ram. But I do not have the info concerning the GPU... How is this relevant ?
Will the ram compensate if it's not the same as you ? Will I get the same results as you ? Thx :)
Wait, intel i core 2?
ReplyDeleteMy laptop has a intel icore 3.
Which one is better?
if my 2013 MacBook Air can run most of these fine (granted they're PAL for GameCube) and normal for less intensive and Wii games I'm fine at basic settings
ReplyDeleteBelieve me when I tell you a Intel duo can do much more than 2000''s consoles
ReplyDeleteI play on the note 10 using dolphin emulator and it runs at 60 fps but sometimes it hits like 57 fps but rarely and I also don't need a controller or keyboard and mouse but I still use a controller tho.
ReplyDeleteYou said you could install this on a HDD
ReplyDeleteis this a dual boot situation or is it more of an application?
Great video, and a great bargain! Please try to run the system with a GPU that you think might improve the performance for the problem emulators! It would be great to see if we can pump enough power into one of these old workhorses to get some PS2 or 3DS game play out of it! Thanks again!
