ReplyDeleteInstead of giving the city a health bar, they should give Superman 2 meter bars. One for powers and the other for health. But the health bar would only go down after the powers meter depletes.
ReplyDeleteWhen the narrative is done right, it’s fine to play him slightly depowered. They could also throw in some red sun grenades, And kryptonite bullets. Superman RPG would be great. Upgrading each power to be able to fly longer and run faster is fine.
A Superman game is doable.

ReplyDeleteI can imagine a really good superman game... Some development of character from nothing to superhero - like Smallville tv series style. You have to fall to human enemies -> find new powers -> fall to supernatural enemies -> find other powers like laser eyes... You can choose to be friendly suôerhero or the 'fear me' one.

ReplyDeleteMaking a good Superman game is NOT as hard as ppl are making it out to be. The industry has already introduce several gameplay mechanics in other games that would be very beneficial in a Superman game. It's mainly about taking the right pieces of the puzzle and arranging them in a compelling way to make a game FUN. Experienced industry heads should already KNOW how to make a Superman game FUN. Too many people are hard focused on how to make the character feel threatened or his health. Who cares!! Just make the damn game FUN.
