Game features
- Simple and accessible controls
The control system has been streamlined to work perfectly with modern touch interfaces.
The position of the directional pad can be freely adjusted, allowing players to switch between one-handed and two-handed play with a touch of the screen.
The combat system has also been reworked, allowing one-shot battles as well as a more complex game.
- The tension system
During the battle, you can select "Psyche Up" to give your next attack an extra boost!
The more you psyche a character, the more their tension will increase, until they finally reach a crazy state known as very high tension!
- Skill points
Skill points are earned when your characters level up and can be assigned to various skills to learn new spells and abilities.
This system allows you to perfectly adapt your team to your taste.
- Monster teams
Some monsters found in the field can be searched for by your team of monsters - if you're tough enough to beat them, that's it!
Once assembled, your crack team can take part in fiercely contested tournaments organized in the monster arena and can even help you in combat!
- The pot of alchemy
Combine existing elements to create new ones!
Even the most modest objects could be ingredients for the greatest objects of all!

ReplyDeletewell think of it this way, if square didn't remove the voice acting do you know how much do it takes on your storage? This is a lazy yet smart port because they Fix the scalling problem with a portrait mode. for you who don't have any consoles available to play it, just buy it on your android devices. you won't regret it.

ReplyDeletePretty decent port if you don't have access to any of the other versions. The only two real problems i have with it are the godawful framerate they decided to lock at mid-20 FPS for some bizarre reason, and this being a direct port of the Japanese version it doesn't have the localized western voice acting nor the remade orchestral score. Moving around is a bit frustrating too but you have to expect that with touchscreens, plus you're forced to play it in vertical mode.

ReplyDeleteCompared to the original, which i own too, this version just doesn't cut it. The orchestrated music and voice acting are out which i can live without. The decision to lock the game to 20 fps on the otherhand doesn't make any sense. The game runs worse than its PS2 counter part. What were they thinking.

ReplyDeleteAnyone else having cloud sync issues with the game? I was almost done with the game but I had to update it cause it kept crashing. So I cloud synced my data then uninstalled the game. When I reinstalled it the sync keeps saying it failed.

ReplyDelete1. still nice and crisp graphics
2. new "tactics" just like (fight wisely, all defend, show no mercy) and it's very good because the AI's pretty smart about their choices for battle and really helps smartphone user to battle easily and enhance gameplay. Remembering me of final fantasy's gambit system but this is the simpler yet efficient tactics.
3. the ios/android version has auto button to walk the character so players only need to move the camera to adjust/change the directions you want.
4. they also put the mini map icon in the top corner screen which is very useful, remembering the ps2 version doesnt have the minimap on screen, making players easily get lost and missing some treasures in game.
5. and last but not least, the alchemy pot! We don't need to wait or walk so many steps to finish the alchemy's boiling. Basically, it's instant alchemy pop :-)
Sorry for the bad english, but i think this is a great game and u can consider this if you like playing dragon quest franchise. Smartphone is a good port after all
I am almost done with the game but I heard some people say they got rid of the Dragovian Trials. I hope not. That is the reason I got this mobile version due to when I got it my computer could not run PCSX2. Now I can, but they finally fixed some of the issues that made the game almost unplayable (except frame rate for some reason....) If anyone else knows if the trials are in this port, let me know...I will find out sooner or later but it would be nice to know...
