Our Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox podcast hosts are meeting to discuss how Nintendo might react to the release of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in the fall of 2020, particularly with regard to third-party game support .
Mario and pokemon are the best selling franchises of all time and are Nintendo exclusives thats how they will survive not to mention the fact zelda has 98 million game sales as well. Nintendo will always compete a their brand is so consistent with games and rarely drop the ball.
Alienware UFO, a Switch-like device, will play Steam games... look it up. It’s going to be a thing. and, it docks to your home tv. I am so tired of Nintendo always dragging its feet. I want PC gaming on the go and NOT just a laptop.
Xbox already defeated itself. No games. All of those studios they listed already developed games that flopped so hard last gen. Pack your bags n go home Xbox. Say it with me, y'all: "PC and every console... except Xbox."
I think that the momment they announced breath of the wild 2, they will announced the new switch, and they're going to have kind of a banner or warning in the new high graphics games saying this game only runs on switch pro, or it is not compatible with your switch, but they will still support the original switch with game that can still be ported, and honestly I think they'll keep the name switch for a long time, maybe up to a switch 3
They probably won't need to; the Switch is a handheld. I think that the main reason the rumored "Switch Pro" is doomed to fail is because it will be behind the next-gen consoles in terms of sheer power regardless.
I've got myself Switch and now I only play on it (BOTW, Hotline Miami, Stardew Valley, M:Odyssey, Cuphead). My PSPro is now collecting dust in the corner. Switch is a great little system :) Now waiting for PS5.
Nintendo doesn’t need to compete with Microsoft and Sony cuz they already beat them hands down with the Switch. Nintendo dominates the video game market. They always just focus on their own thing and they always surpass Sony and Microsoft. Even before the Switch came out.
No one would even be questioning Nintendo's position if Metroid Prime 4 was within 18 months of dropping. People had Gamecubes and Wiis and have been waiting a long time for it. It solidified a fanbase that will give the Switch a second wind whenever it does release. So the grace period is longer than analysts are allowing. And let's not pretend that the PS5 and Series One will even be cutting edge when they hit the shelves. Nintendo is the only company that knows it isn't competing with the PC market. The others have been in denial because they have gotten away with a failing model for what, to their credit, was an epic run, but the bubble has to burst sometime.
Millions of people are already invested in the switch, and not because it’s a powerful system. I’m sure it will do just fine. Nintendo is going in a whole other direction you almost can’t compare them to Sony and Xbox
I hope they don't make a switch pro. I just bought my son a switch for Christmas, and I loved it so much that I got one for myself yesterday. I fell in love with Nintendo all over again. My PS4 Pro is a bit jealous at the moment.
Things will not go smoothly as they did in the current generation. Games such as mortal kombat 11, doom, the witcher 3 happened in the switch purely because of a miracle. The power gap between the current gen and switch is big, in the next gen will be enormous. I simply can't see a company like cd projekt red doing a port of a witcher 4 to a console so weak like the switch. It's just hard to imagine. Nintendo will remain with their boring franchises, the same as usual, games that look like they came straight out of ps2 era (sword and shield) to face games that are 20 years ahead. They will remain in their market, doing zelda, donkey kong and mario, thats what they do, i just don't know if this would even work with a power so big in x series or ps5. Why would any company go as far as porting a game for the next gen for a console as weak as a ps3 or 360?
People love Nintendo so much, they could be selling cardboard for $60 and people would line up to buy it.

ReplyDeleteWho cares Nintendo is crap
ReplyDeleteWith the switch Pro that will port games from ps5 and xbox one probably boasting the portable option.
ReplyDeleteit's not hardware, it's the games that decide who wins,i thought sony and Nintendo already proved that
ReplyDeleteBy making actual fun games and not worrying about how powerful their specs are
ReplyDeleteI feel nintendo should stop making consoles and start porting their first party games to other manufacturers
ReplyDeleteHopefully by lowering the price of the 2 year old games.
ReplyDeleteSony and Microsoft are trying to keep up with Nintendo.
ReplyDeleteThey will not get any 3rd parties
