I'm interested in getting this game but I'm just a tad confused about the GAME SAVE aspect of it. Is it run on generous Checkpoints or can you actually SAVE your game at some point?
There's not much point in playing a game that has one or more bugs so bad that you have to start the game over and hold your breath that it doesn't happen again in the same spot.... like.... if power fails or company arrives and you have to shut down AFTER you've gotten the key from the skeleton you kill that opens the gate to the boss in The Forest and when you return to play the gate is closed again and no killed skeletons provide a key to it... end game... no moving forward from there.
While it's not a bad game, the controls are a bit of an obstacle. There's some acceleration happening on my iPad2 which makes navigation a tad difficult, especially with the boat.
I played it this summer on a iPad mini retina with a PS3 controller and on a gameklip from China. So i didn't have problems with the controls (it was only a bit tedious to choose items, but in most Zelda games it is way more annoying) The graphics are nice (definitely better than most Zelda games, at least better than the old ones and the mobile games), but it's far away from "breathtaking". But the gameplay isn't as genius as in the Zelda franchise. Most of the time you have to explore the islands (but many islands are too big or have nothing special to explore) and fight some enemies, which unfortunately respawn after a minute or so. The puzzles and riddles are few and easy, so nothing for thinkers. There are only a few sidequests, so there is not much to do outside the main story. The story and presentation was also only mediocre, but at least I didn't have to rescue another princess. I enjoyed the challenging boss fights, the soundtrack and the overall look and feel of the game. It isn't a perfect game, but worth the money. 15-20 hours for 9 bucks is okay for me.
Looks like a pretty good alternative for people who dont own any nintendo console
