You all know that I love my PSN trophies, whereas today I'm sitting on 116 Platinum's. there are still a lot of unfinished games on my list. And honestly, I never come back to many of them. Today I dig through the trophy cupboard and take out the chess book to share with all of you. I also know. This is the worst thumbnail I have ever created for YouTube. I fully accept it and find it suitable for a video on my abandonment.

ReplyDeleteNot caring about trophies doesn't make you cool.
i have an xbox one account where i complete games through all achievements. i decided to play minecraft bedrock edition, which i thoroughly enjoyed. if you know, that game has constant major updates. updates that aren't added to your older worlds. updates that add achievements. some of these, however, are not that difficult. you don't have to put too much time into playing to get them. other times, they require hours upon hours to get the achievement on a brand new world.
ReplyDeleteLittle Big Planet is by far my favorite and most proud Platinum of my 30. I'm pretty proud of CoD Ghost since I did it alone. NBA 2k15 I put hundreds of hours into but was unwilling to spend hundreds of dollars to complete one of the final 2 achievements of obtaining every card in the game (I had about 90% :/) the other achievement being getting to the highest rank , I was the second highest, which required winning 9/10 games against other top tier players fighting for the last rank. That still stings but like you said at a point you realize your time is more valuable. Blue Dragon is one where you have to collect every item and monster (many are missable and only appear once or in a special location etc) I had a perfect run going and was on the 3rd and final disk grinding all my characters to max level before I stopped playing and that's it i can never pick it up and know where I was at or what I had. Sad times especially because I never even ended up finishing the story lol.

ReplyDeleteI remember spending 4 hours straight just to get Guessing Game and I still don't have it, I've tried many times and spend countless hours but RNG really hates me. MK9 is just absurd, that one gold trophy is a joke, 24h minimum with each character? In a game with 28 characters?? No thanks.
Been getting platinum since PS3 and currently doing Titanfall 2 & it's my first maybe quit it because of that bullshit become master trophy

ReplyDeleteI don't trophy hunt anymore, and the one game that made me stop that was InJustice Gods Among us. Got to 97% and couldn't beat the impossible battle tower. It's infamous for being near on genuinely unbeatable. And since then I've only really gotten platinum's for games I really enjoyed and wanted to put loads of hours in to!

ReplyDeleteMost recent platinum I got was Far Cry Primal. Spent 14 hours getting the first 49 trophies and 6 hours getting the last. A pretty short platinum in comparison to most, but it doesn't detract from the fact that grinding's a bitch.
ReplyDeleteThe plat I gave up on was Destiny 2 because the only trophy I need to beat the prestige leviathan raid but every time we spend 4-5 hours getting to the final boss everybody leaves

ReplyDeleteLast I saw ni no kuni 2 is just storyline completion was almost 80 hrs there are tons of trophies but a fair few you will get by completing the game I'm actually playing it right now trying to do the platinum
ReplyDeleteI wouldn’t mind getting the platinum for rocksmith 2014. But I really don’t think I’ll ever be good enough at it. Having to master 10 songs where you play theM without the on screen notes and chords. Added together with the fact it’s sometimes a little bit dodgy with some notes and I don’t think it will happen. I’ve mastered 2 songs and have just got the trophy for 25 hours in practice mode. But on the up hand. I do feel like I’m playing guitar better since being on it so

ReplyDeleteSame here hate it when they put multiplayer trophies in to get platinum and worse game from my collection is Bleach: soul resurreccion, it's a completely stupid grind to complete with a rubbish drop of soul points 😥

ReplyDeleteWe have a similar attitude to getting trophies. I don't use a second account though. If I like a game, I'll get the plat, if I think it's ok, I'll get whatever trophies I can whilst finishing it and if I hate it, it sits at 1 or 2 % forever. Each list on my account tells a little story and I like that. My friends don't really care about the trophy meta-game so it's fun listening to you talk about it. I'm currently at 202 platinums. Keep up the good work!
