  2. Please admit that you were wrong and your research data was wrong. Don't set the internet on fire like Verge did with their absurd PC build.

  8. OnePlus 7 pro/7T pro is clearly the best android smartphone released this year

  9. I've never heard of realme or redmi, but why is the pixel 4 the best camera smartphone? It ditches the ultrawide which was the thing of 2019

  10. Dude, I gave you so many chances and tried watching your videos and listen to your opinions, but man, there's definitely something wrong with you. Giving the pixels 2 awards shows clearly you're way too biased.

  11. More dislikes than likes should say everything wrong with the choices.
Putting up the "Bust of the year" phone (as per MKBHD) as best display, and ROG 2, Note 10+, or OP7T miss out is also a poor thing to happen. No disregards to RealMe though.

  12. In memorian of the forgotten ones:
OnePlus 7 Pro/7T/7T Pro and ROG Phone 2
And of course... Many others of 2019.

  14. OK, so my question is, with 2.3K Likes & 2.3 Dislikes to match, is that due to...

A The presentation which would include the individual doing the video?
B The results and either agreeing/disagreeing with them?

  15. How didn't the Oneplus 7t pro McLaren win for the fastest phone? It's a beast and has 5g built in.

  20. Wow. Yeah, got to agree with most of the comments here. But first, props to Android Authority for getting this under 4 minutes. That's pretty impressive. You could have easily taken 12 minutes to assign 7 awards, and spent a little more time, but you trimmed it down, got the point across — good job on presentation there.

That said... I'm an iPhone guy now, by virtue of having an iPhone, one iPhone, for the last four years. I used to be and am still interested in the Android scene, though. But the thing about the iPhone, it's gonna sweep all the categories except customization and storage every year. And it's gonna get five years of support, vs 2 or less for Android. So for me, the best Android phone has got to have the latest and greatest Snapdragon processor to be no more than 2 years behind the latest iPhone processor, it's gotta be affordable, around that $500 price point, and it's gotta excel in as many other areas as possible.

So, for me, 2019's Android winner was the Samsung Galaxy S10e. I think it's normally like $700? But with the various sales, it can be had for closer to $500. It's got the SD855. It's got that gorgeous Samsung screen. It has a headphone jack and a microSD slot, and it comes with 128GB standard, double what the iPhone 11 starts with. The cameras are amazing, and it has wireless charging and Type C. It's really hard to fault the phone. Even TouchWiz, now called OneUI, has come so far over the years. I didn't think it was that bad when I had my S3, but I would have preferred stock Android back then (it ran better). I like the design philosophy behind OneUI, and functionally, it works and it looks good. If I'm looking hard for faults, I'd say the fingerprint reader on the power button is hard to reach, but it's never been a problem in practice, and you also have face unlock (not sure how secure it is) and it can stay unlocked when it's on your home WiFi, which my iPhone can't do. I'd like the fingerprint reader below the cameras, though the way iPhone does (did) it is nice, too. That implies a move up to the regular S10, but I'm not a fan of those curved screens. I don't think they're nice, I think they're inviting damage that makes you replace the phone.

I will admit the Pixel series has a great camera. Can't really speak about the screen as I haven't seen a 4 series yet. But they've all had problems... haven't heard about many from the 4 series, which is nice. I'm probably not going to stop thinking of them as HTC phones though, and HTC has been trash for years (since the M8 or M9, definitely the 10). The fact is, it's obviously a camera-first phone, especially the Spring "A" models. And camera is nice but it should be performance/longevity first, in my opinion.
