There's too much misinformation in the comments. The nvidia shield portable is a handheld android device with the "Tegra 4" chip, the nvidia shield tablet is an android tablet with the "Tegra K1" chip, and the nvidia shield TV (Which is the one getting the GCN and Wii games) is an android TV box (which is like an apple TV, for those uninitiated) which has the "Tegra X1" chip (The one that the switch has) and all three of these products ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER.

if they dont hacking the switch will be essential. keep in mind that the shield runs android and this will be a restriction the switch dont have.
