The Xbox Series X will launch at the end of the year during the holidays and while preparing for the release, we are getting more and more information from Microsoft on how they will move to the next generation. Now, it looks like they aren't planning to release X-series exclusive games for the first year or two, instead creating games that are cross-referenced with Xbox One.

ReplyDeleteThey said after 1 year sir, not years and this is a good move for X owners. Everytime MS make consumer based decisions they catch a lot flak for it. Its sad that Sony keeps you so closed in with no choices or options and get so much praise. Praise Sony for the games but also be strongly critical on how they sold you emulated games and backwards compat over these years. You cant praise them all the way around and should hold them accountable just as you do Microsoft.

Im just going to wait atleast 12 months before i jump in the next gen consoles. Had a ps4 at launch and it had no games same with xbox one.
ReplyDeleteFantastic from Microsoft! You're not forced to upgrade to the new Xbox right away and you can still play Halo, Forza Motorsport 8, etc. on One X or PC. Fantastic! The clickbait headline that Microsoft won't be releasing any exclusive games for the Series X console for a year is, as usual, dubious journalism to make people aware of the article!

ReplyDeleteI want to buy the Xbox Series X simply so that my current games can play the way they should play at 60 frames per second in 4k. The fact that it's going to be backwards compatible and able to play current games much better alone makes it worth purchasing.

A very foolhardy move by MS that will bite them during the transition. Look no further than the consumer confusion for the Wii -> WiiU transition for why this is a bad idea.
