Xbox Series X will not have exclusives for 1-2 years, PS5 already has a big advantage

Matt Booty of Xbox just revealed yesterday that the Xbox Series X will not have any real exclusive games during the first 1-2 years of its commercialization. This basically means that every game from Microsoft’s proprietary studios will be playable on Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X. This comes as disappointing news for many gamers as one of the main incentives for people to be excited about upgrading to a new generation console sees what some of these exclusive games can do technically, to see what developers can do on new hardware that they couldn't on old hardware. Sony, however, will most likely have exclusive PS5 games at launch and throughout. Of course, Sony will have cross-gen titles and of course most of the 3rd parties will also be cross-gen, but if Sony offers real exclusive PlayStation 5 games, they will have a big advantage from the start. Now we all know that Microsoft's strategy is going to be very different from Sony's and will break with tradition, but there is no doubt that many players are not excited or happy about this news. 2020 is the year of the PS5 against the Xbox X series and that could end up making a big difference in the choice of consoles. launch titles and exclusives play a key role in early adoption. honestly, this is bad news for Xbox for me.

  4. It might not be a smart move from MS but if Sony are going to release games like knack , Killzone and The Order for next two years then MS might just get away with it.

  9. Everyone should just get ps5 and not buy the next Xbox , make them go crazy and actually start giving exclusives ... make them bankrupt once so that they get things right

  10. Hmm there are people who see it as a Pro consumer decision, which it is maybe except the fact first games won’t be able to explore box full potential.

    Then others say it’s bad
For business. That’s not how I see it. It’s totally the opposite. They trying to save or at least give the business a breather. If they come up with more divisive decisions they’ll just break even more. I think they are being careful

  12. So I can play Halo Infinite on the Xbox One S and One X? Either it's running on low settings at 720p on the One S or it's not going to be pushing the Series X hard and it won't be a graphical showcase to show off your new shiny Xbox.

  13. Amazing why is this news there not into making games. What crack ho3 .

  14. Not everyone has $500 to blow on a new console but they'll still be able to play new games which means more games sold. This is a good thing

  18. Well... The same occur on PC industry and no body say anything... I have a PS4 and a will buy a ps5 but the vg industry is differentiating and Microsoft knows that they can't compete Whit Sony at the same market segment. The Microsoft strategy is vg as services

  19. I don't like Xbox either, even so, cross-gen games can see dramatic difference with new-gen. I think this series X is mostly a hardware upgrade, and if you compare low/high graphics on PC the difference is huge: https://youtu.be/3lbQ7PC5drw

  22. MBG, you and alot of others are missing the point, Microsoft doesn't care about how many consoles they sell, this article says basically they are not going to forget the other Gamers who dont all have an Xbox One X right now! They are giving consumers the chance to upgrade over time! Xbox Series X games With Cross Gen meaning that game will use the power of the Series X, then they scale it down to the Xbox One X and every other console! How many PS4 Pro Gamers will upgrade to the PS5 instantly??? Less then half, they will not only need to upgrade their console but their TV as well! If they want to upgrade they will want more then 1440p to use the full power of both consoles, that is not cheap! So 100 million PS4 Pro owners less then half will upgrade the 1st year, PS5 exclusive games means they will leave behind all the PS4 Pro Owners from Day 1, Microsoft will not do that and you think that's bad???? Xbox Series X will have their games using the Power of that Console, then other lower consoles wont have those features and technologies, this is nothing new! Like PC not everyone has a 3rd Gen Ryzen 3950x or an Intel 9th Gen 9900K with an RTX 2080Ti the exclusive games are nasty at that end but many have less powerful systems and still play! PC Game Developers never say, you can only play our game if you have the highest best CPU and baddest RTX 2080Ti and leave the rest behind! I'm getting the Xbox Series X cause their games have pleased me I'm sorry but PS5 games dont appeal to me most are 1st or 3rd person single player and japanese games that bore the hell out of me! All 48 of my friends play Xbox and PC, one of them tried the PS4 Pro only games he liked were God of War and Spiderman nothing else but they were only single player, no Co-Op or multiplayer equals boring! Why dont you post a video how much a premium 4K-8K HDR Smart TVs plus the cost of the PS5 or Xbox Series X will cost to upgrade from last generation consoles???? Its not going to be cheap either! We both know most current monitors and TVs now will not be Next Gen ready so they need to upgrade! Now I Love alot of your videos but how you took Matt Booty' comments is the opposite! PS5 is forgetting its majority of Gamers while Microsoft is not but they giving their Gamers a chance 1 maybe 2 years to upgrade and time to save up while Sony isnt!

  26. PlayStation has ALWAYS had the huge advantage when it comes to exclusives. Xbox only really has Halo and Gears and both of those franchises are exhausted.

  27. This is so untrue. They will have more then a few. Just like the PS5.

  33. Xbox games take full advantage of the new console but you'll be able to play on Xbox one x has well and I think so will do the same

    ReplyDelete
  34. Huh? No exclusives for the new console? Only 3rd parties that have a chance to be on Xbox One and PC as well?

I remember Xbox One selling with launch exclusives such as Forza, Ryse, Killer Instinct and some more.. this might hit them big time.
