Yes, I have seen the PC Gamer Review, and although I strongly support everyone's right to have an opinion and express that opinion, when you make that public opinion in the form of a review, it is open to further examination. And here is my comment on the situation.

This article feels like it was written by someone who played the game enough to barely make a review, then someone else came in and edited their own opinions over it. Articles like these are why we don't take most review sites seriously.
ReplyDelete3rd comment but i love mh so i had to make this, but yea the Elder Dragons in World are not native to the New World either, except for possibly Nergigante, the thing about Nergi though, is he THRIVES for a fight, his species are like Saiyans from Dragon Ball, viscous violent killers looking for the next battle. The other natives we find there are very likely not actually native, elder dragons cross in droves from outside to reach the new world and proceed to immediately fuck the natural order, and other foreign monsters like Deviljho found their way there likely piggybacking on a colossal elder dragon like Zorah or Dalamadur. At this point we even have a hint about Fatalis likely orchestrating all of the events of World, something it very much could do. Humans are not the most destructive beings in this world, Elder Dragons are incredibly smart and powerful and don't necessarily use that for good, these are neutral creatures that act entirely out of necessity and that necessity can be very harmful for the environment that the humans are trying to maintain

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but the "If you only dipped your toes or didn't see it to the end" statement in the review is 100% correct. While it does add some new mechanics and content, if someone didn't enjoy MHW enough to finish it, or it just never clicked for them, Iceborne is unlikely to change that. Same goes for people who did enjoy it, but grew tired of the gameplay loop quickly. Iceborne won't be a good purchase for people who didn't like the base game or lost interest quickly.

new monster was fun, all the reskins were so annoying theyre instantly in my top 5 list of worst monsters in the game so far.
viper tobo kadachi was literally one evening of work for a single drunk dev.
same goes for that first fish-snow monster, it is literally a jyuradontus reskin with a different head and 95% same lameass moves.
i assume ill enjoy the dlc when i get to spend more time on it but so far i feel like i got ripped off tbh.
considering the performance issues on pc, it wouldve been justified to give it a much lower review imo.
It may surprise people to hear this, but we females sometimes like looking sexy. Sometimes we like looking sexy while murdering something 10 times our size.

I played Worlds, but not Iceborne. But I've watched some lets plays which shows how much this reviewer was pulling this out of their ass...

ReplyDeleteYes the new stuff for weapons is great. However i will SLIGHTLY agree that if someone "dips their toes" or didn't finish the game, then yea iceborne is not for you. If ya didn't finish the game though i ASSUME you weren't going to buy this anyways. However i will 100% push for anyone to buy this if they bought and BEAT the base and had FUN doing it.
Edit: REally? Complaining about hunting monsters in Monster Hunter? Besides everyone who plays this game enough KNOWS that captures, aka conserving wildlife i guess? I'm glad you mentioned it.

People who feel that way has NOTHING to do in either the gaming industry or movie industry. If you cant handle digital creatures beeing killed in a game, you shouldnt be reviewing anything at all. You know...gendered outfits aren't a bad thing, There will be armors you like and don't like, but having different sets for men and women gives us even more designs rather than having the same armor for both genders, It isn't offensive or anything, WE ACTUALLY LOST armors because they removed the ranged weapon armor of the past.

Guess what ''woke'' people, Regardless of colonizing in the past and travelling the world etc. That people did, No one had actually claimed that territory, sure they live there but there is no universla magic that stops others from coming in animal or not, It is simply survival and curiosity, They didn't have internet or vacation photos or diverse food or tv or medicine and resources, Do you really think you wouldn't have done the same? Morals have no effect on the physical world and ''morally bankrupt'' people and the opposite can both do deeds many deem as good and bad.
These people lack such basic critical thinking skills even a 6 year old has. Imagine a world where all games had to go by the standards of people in this article, You would have no accuracy, No outfits, no hunting, no war, no interesting narratives, no violence whatsoever.

From what I noticed, the new thing about female armors is if the armor has bulges for boobs, sjw will complain about it. They want female armor to be the exact same as male armor.

ReplyDeleteThe manufactured rage here for a 35 minute video is astounding. You took a quote out of context and harped on it for the majority of the video. The review says this game has nothing to offer people who got bored with the original MHW and never finished it. I think that's true. You either enjoy the concept of hunting monsters, or you don't. This expansion doesn't change the paradigm. I love Iceborne. Up to almost 800 hours played for both games so far. But I think the review number is fair at 81%. Load times are slow. The majority of need to know details are not in the game, but rather fan-made tutorials and guides. And much of the gameplay becomes very repetitive. I love it, but I don't think I'm impartial anymore.

ReplyDeleteI downloaded a finished save of the game. Sold all items, and bought up all my money only to sell them again. So I could play though the game without the story. xD It's the best way to enjoy MHW.
